Future of Biogas Summit

The European Commission and industry leaders, committed to the green energy transition, have launched last week the Biomethane Industrial Partnership (BIP). This new public-private partnership  was announced in the REPowerEU Plan and it aims to support the achievement of the target to increase annual production and use of biomethane to 35 billion cubic metres by 2030. This will reduce Europe’s dependency on natural gas from Russia in a cost-effective way. At the same time, it will substantially contribute to an integrated net-zero energy system, diversifying farmer’s incomes and ensuring a circular approach.

The Biomethane Industrial Partnership is open to all interested stakeholders that wish to work towards achieving its objective. All EU countries are invited to join the Biomethane Industrial Partnership, together with companies, industry associations, academia and civil society organisations.

Join us in Amsterdam and hear from Harmen Dekker, CEO of European Biogas Association and Jean-Marie Gauthey, Head of European Affairs of GRDF on Day 1 focusing on: Evaluating the Radical Shift in European Biogas Policy and Likely Outcomes.

Harmen Dekker
CEO of European Biogas Association

Jean-Marie Gauthey
Head of European Affairs of GRDF

They will be sharing insights on:

  • Addressing the changes to regulations and policy, as well as causes and probable effects, with an outlook towards reaching zero emissions by 2050.
  • Responding to "RePowerEU" and targets to produce 35 bcm by 2030.
  • Discussing Taxonomy and the role of biogas within the "Fit for 55" plan. How is biogas being taken care of? What will be the impact with reduction in dependence on Russian gas?

Nordsol Bio-LNG Instalment - Exclusive Limited Availability Site Visit:

During the afternoon of Tuesday, 22nd November 2022, a day prior to the conference, a limited number of attendees will be permitted the unique opportunity to visit the first Dutch Bio-LNG instalment in Amsterdam Westpoot, hosted by Nordsol. Please register your attendance for the site visit when booking for the conference.

Nordsol has largely reinvented LNG technology to come up with a blueprint for small-scale decentralized production of bio-LNG that is robust and financially viable. This iLNG technology is applied in their own installations as well as in those of their clients. In addition, clients can also take advantage of Nordsol’s bio-LNG market expertise to organise the full value chain from biogas to bio-LNG offtake.
There is no extra charge to attend the site visit, but spaces are strictly limited and allocated to conference delegates on a first-come, first-served basis.
